Dr. Michelle Clarke

Dr. Michelle Clarke is recognized for her unique skill set and experience in the management of TMJ (jaw) dysfunction and craniofacial pain. With extensive post-graduate training, she is one of the few chiropractors in Australia who has advanced knowledge in treating TMJ disorders, headaches, bruxism (teeth grinding), mouth breathing and orofacial pain.  Michelle has a particular interest in chronic and complex adult jaw complaints and paediatric jaw development.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Physiology and Biochemistry from The University of Melbourne, followed by a double degree in Applied Science (Clinical Science) and Chiropractic Science from RMIT University, graduating with Distinction in 2005.

Michelle’s path to chiropractic care began when she developed severe shoulder pain during early university. After experiencing life-changing relief through chiropractic treatment, she made the decision to redirect her career and help others achieve similar results.  During practice she developed a strong interest in the TMJ.  Seeing many adults with similar presentations of jaw pain, bruxism and snoring, she began digging deeper.  Michelle discovered orofacial myofunctional therapy and took a particular interest in paediatric jaw development and early intervention.  Her training and experience places her in a position to help patients, both adults and children, with jaw pain, headaches, bruxism (tooth grinding), facial pain, mouth breathing, and altered tongue function (affecting speech and swallow).

Her advanced training includes:

  • Advanced TMJ Care

  • Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT)

  • Myofascial TMJ Release

  • Cranial Release Techniques

  • Chiropractic Paediatric Care

  • Tethered oral ties

  • MyoMunchee Certified Practitioner Training

Dr. Clarke collaborates with dentists, orthodontists, and ENT specialists to manage complex TMJ cases and paediatric developmental jaw concerns.

Michelle sees patients for general chiropractic care, as well as dedicated TMJ (jaw) and orofacial myofunctional appointments and accepts referrals from other healthcare practitioners.

TMJ dysfunction is often overlooked, but it can be life-changing when properly treated. I love seeing patients regain comfort, function, and confidence.
