Jaw Pain

Jaw Pain – When Something Doesn’t Feel Right

What’s Causing My Jaw Pain?

Jaw pain can stem from a range of issues, not just the joint itself. Common causes include:

  • TMJ dysfunction – Problems with the jaw joint and muscles around it

  • Teeth grinding (bruxism) – Often worsens with stress or during sleep

  • Poor posture – Forward head posture can add strain to your jaw

  • Previous dental work or trauma – Even small misalignments can throw things off

  • Tension or tightness in the head, neck or shoulders – All connected to how your jaw moves

You might notice symptoms like clicking, locking, ear pain, headaches, or tightness in your face and temples. These are often signs that your jaw isn’t functioning as it should.

Ever feel like your jaw just isn’t moving right? Maybe it clicks when you chew, aches when you wake up, or locks up when you yawn. Jaw pain can be more than a minor annoyance—it can affect your eating, sleeping, and even how you speak.
